Research at the Quantum Frontier.

No funding for PhD students? No permanent faculty appointment? Academic job prospects look slim?

No problem! 😎

I am currently an Ada Lovelace Fellow in the Löffler Lab at Leiden University. Although embedded inside this experimental group, I supervise a small handful of my own theory students.

Until I find a permanent home somewhere in this big world, I’ve been finding creative ways to make my own research mini-group wherever I go, working with bachelors and masters students. In the quantum frontiers research mini-group, we focus on:

  • blind quantum machine learning algorithms

  • quantum internet protocols and applications

  • the quantum to classical transition

  • measurement theory

  • fun unsolved quantum optics problems

  • quantum diversity research & workforce development

The quantum future waits for no one!

quantum optics was once described to me

as a wild west.

I reckon that still rings true.

there is so much knowledge behind us,

but even more ahead…

welcome to the quantum frontier.
